What is the Marlowe Theatre Access Scheme?
Our Access Scheme is designed to provide equity to disabled audience members and those with access requirements. By signing up and telling us how we can help you with accessibility, you will be able to:
- Book tickets for new shows three days before the general public (on most shows).
- Book a wheelchair space online.
- Book the best seats for Captioned and British Sign Language performances when new shows go on sale – online, by phone or in person.
- Receive discounted tickets for yourself (plus an essential companion if you have the +1 symbol)
- Keep up to date with accessibility and accessible performances at the Marlowe Theatre.
To sign up, register for free with Nimbus Disability.
Can I book access tickets without an access registration?
To ensure that accessible provisions (such as discounted tickets and specific seating) are safeguarded for our access customers and protected from potential misuse, all members of our Access Scheme must first be verified by our partner, Nimbus Disability. This includes those who were previously enrolled on our self-declaration Access Scheme.
However, while specific discounts and priority booking windows are reserved for those verified via Nimbus, other provisions such as wheelchair positions and enhanced performances remain available at the standard ticket price. Our Box Office team is always on hand to advise on the most suitable options for those with seating preferences such as step-free access or proximity to exits. Please be assured that all three levels of the venue are fully accessible by lift, with bars and accessible toilet facilities located on every floor.
How do I apply to the Access Scheme?
Visitors who wish to qualify for any access discounts, priority booking, or other access provisions available at the time of booking must register their requirements with Nimbus.
When you register, Nimbus Disability will handle all your information securely and safely without the Marlowe Theatre ever having cause to see the detail behind why you need accessible adjustments. Please be prepared to provide documentation evidencing your access requirements and photo ID.
There are two ways you can register:
Route 1
You can apply for a free Marlowe Theatre Digital Access Pass (DAP). This will be recognised at the Marlowe Theatre only and will be valid for three years.
Complete your free application for the DAP.
Route 2
You can upgrade to a full Access Card application.
The Access Card costs £15 for three years of membership. The full card provides you with the same benefits as the free registration, as well as:
- Recognised at thousands of venues and events across the UK and beyond without needing to reapply.
- Potential discounts or free companion tickets at other venues across the UK.
- A photo ID with symbols relating to your accessibility needs.
- Access to a closed Facebook Community group
Register a full Access Card for £15 for three years.
The quickest and easiest way to apply is via the website, but Nimbus do have the ability to undertake a phone application for those that require it. You will need to call 0330 808 5108 to book a date and time for a phone application.
If you already have an Access Card with Nimbus Disability, you won’t need to reapply.
