Marlowe Academy of Performing Arts: Apply

Marlowe Academy of Performing Arts: Apply

We are keen to find individuals who are collaborative, supportive and passionate about the performing arts.

We are particularly interested in finding students who may be at the beginning of their journey in the performing arts. Performance experience or background is not essential – if you have an interest in drama or acting but have never had the chance to be involved, then we encourage you to apply.

Places on the course are limited to 18 students, and therefore an interview and audition process is required due to high demand.

Application process

The application process takes place over two stages. Applications can be made via the Canterbury College website.

  • Once you have filled in the online application form, you will be invited to attend a short first-round audition/interview.
  • If you are successful, we will invite you to attend a second-round group workshop and interview.

Support in your application

Remember we are not expecting you to be a confident performer when you apply. We strongly believe that our role is to help students develop that confidence, technique, and skill.

There will also be a support clinic for your application where we will offer practical advice in how to prepare for the audition process. If you are not sure what speech to choose, how to get it ready or just nervous as it is a new thing for you, we can help you give it your best.

If you would like some advice and support on how to prepare your application, please attend the applicants information evening.
