Marlowe Theatre Young Creatives

Marlowe Theatre Young Creatives is for young people who want to expand their theatre-making skills and explore different approaches to creating performance.

Across the academic year, participants explore a range of creative practices including devising, performance, directing, design, writing, digital performance and site-responsive work. Through practical projects and skills-based sessions, they develop their creative interests, experiment with new ideas and collaborate to create original work.

Young Creatives is for young people who are curious about theatre-making and ready to engage fully in a collaborative creative process. Participants share work with audiences throughout the year while developing skills across a range of theatre disciplines.

Where demand exceeds available places, the organisation uses a contextual priority framework to improve equitable access for young people who may face structural barriers to participation. Factors may include local postcode data, school context, and optional demographic information. No single factor guarantees a place, and allocations are made using consistent and transparent criteria.

All Youth Company members have the benefit of discounted tickets to selected shows at the Marlowe Theatre and will have the opportunity to join a supervised theatre trip at least twice in the academic year.
