The Green Room
You can enjoy the best in food and drink at the Marlowe Theatre, including tasty pre-show meals at the Green Room Restaurant and Café.
Serving the best locally sourced food and drinks from across the Garden of England, our Green Room Café and Restaurant offers an informal and friendly atmosphere with great food, right next to the buzz of our auditorium.
During the day, you can stop by for a coffee made with award-winning Garage Coffee beans, and ample cakes and pastries from Canterbury Bakery. Our hot drinks and treats can be ordered to takeaway, or enjoyed in our bright and airy café with free WiFi, and unobscured views of the Cathedral and the River Stour.
From 12pm, join us for a delicious light-lunch before exploring the city. Our menu is constantly changing in line with the seasons so pop in to see our current offer and array of specials. Sample dishes include pork and sage sausages from local butchers Hedgers served with creamed potatoes and veg, and a smokey seafood and tomato stew served with toasted sourdough from the Canterbury Bakery.
Pre-show dining
Pre-show, the Green Room transforms into a cosy and relaxed restaurant, offering a delicious dining experience with a two-course option for £21 or our three course for £27. You even have the option to have your dessert in the interval.
To make sure you never miss that overture, we recommend arriving at least 1 hour before curtain up.
