Opportunities
We support artists and young people across the region at different stages throughout their career.
Cygnet School
What is Cygnet School?
Run by New Adventures, resident at the Marlowe Theatre, Cygnet School is a groundbreaking, full subsidised talent development programme for young dancers, which gives them the opportunity to gain access to more opportunities in the arts. From October to July, they meet once a month at the Marlowe Theatre in Canterbury to explore New Adventures’ work and gain insight into the dance industry, culminating in a performed sharing at the end of the year.
Who is Cygnet School for?
• Aged 12-18 or up to the age of 24 if d/Deaf or disabled
• Have some dance experience (all styles welcome)
• Passionate about movement and acting
We are particularly interested in welcoming dancers from a global majority background, as well as young people who have experienced less opportunities in dance and those that have barriers to access due to cost.
