Philharmonia Orchestra Unwrapped
A specially devised one-hour classical concert for schools.
The Philharmonia Orchestra returns for the 2025/26 academic year with a concert devised especially for Key Stage 2 pupils.
The 2025/26 Orchestra Unwrapped concert is centred around the history of the Philharmonia Orchestra, which was founded in 1945 by Walter Legge and celebrates its 80th birthday in 2025. Step into our musical time machine as we celebrate eight decades of the Philharmonia’s rich and remarkable history, from our very first concert in 1945 to today. Together, we’ll visit milestone moments in the Philharmonia’s history and explore the historic events that shaped not just the world, but the Orchestra itself.
Orchestra Unwrapped is accompanied by a teacher INSET session, led by the concert’s presenter, Lucy Drever. This will take place on Tuesday 20 January at the Marlowe Studio 1.30pm-3.30pm. To register to attend the INSET Session, please contact our Education Coordinator at education@marlowetheatre.com.
If you’re a school interested in booking, please contact our Box Office on 01227 787787 or email groups@marlowetheatre.com for more information.
