The Twits

The circus is in town, and we invite you to witness the hilarious downfall of revolting couple Mr. and Mrs. Twit!

By Roald Dahl adapted for the stage by David Wood.

The circus is in town, and we invite you to witness the hilarious downfall of revolting couple Mr. and Mrs. Twit!

Our Youth Company Performance Ensemble bring you their take on Roald Dahl’s children’s literary classic, in a high-energy, highly inventive new production, created with the support of a professional creative team and developed through improvisation and ensemble theatre-making techniques.

In The Twits, the delightfully wicked Mr. and Mrs. Twit, bored of playing pranks on each other, turn their cruel focus toward a family of monkeys – the Muggle-Wumps – who they train for a circus act. But when the birds band together to outwit the Twits, the grotesque duo find themselves caught in a hilarious, upside-down predicament.

The Twits uses a marvellous mix of comedy, storytelling through movement and audience participation to tell a tale of mischief and revenge, shot through with themes of kindness, friendship and hope.

This amateur production of The Twits is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals Ltd. on behalf of Samuel French Ltd.

Every performance of The Twits will be Chilled. Chilled performances are designed for a more informal visit to the theatre, which can be helpful for younger children and first-time theatregoers. The auditorium doors will remain open throughout and rules on making noise and leaving the room are more relaxed.
