BEETHOVEN Overture, Egmont
BRUCH Violin Concerto No. 1
BEETHOVEN Symphony No. 2

Our season concludes with Philharmonia Principal Conductor Santtu-Matias Rouvali at the helm. Despite the crisis the composer was coming to terms with in the summer that he wrote it (he realised he was starting to go deaf), the work is spirited and full of positive energy.

Norwegian violinist Eldbjørg Hemsing, acclaimed for her “radiant and sophisticated performances” (BBC Music Magazine), presents Bruch’s resplendent first violin concerto, a shining example of all the violin has to offer.
