What is an escape room?
An escape room is a space where you work with together friends and colleagues to solve puzzles, riddles and challenges in order to escape a room or series of rooms within an hour. Our room is themed around the life of Christopher (Kit) Marlowe and his works.
How many people can play?

Are the games scary and will I be safe?
Some of the games have a scary theme and storyline. Some sounds that might make you jump but you are completely safe and there is nothing in the rooms that will put you in any danger. The rooms are monitored throughout by the games master.
Will the rooms be easy to solve?
No prior knowledge about Christopher Marlowe is required. There are many different types of puzzles, riddles and mysteries designed to make you work as a team but at the same time they are exciting and fun. Common sense and some puzzle-solving will get you through the game. You can also request clues if you find yourself stuck at any point.
We split our escape room experiences into categories, which you can choose when you book:

The game is not suitable for those with limited mobility, or if you have any other medical conditions that may be exacerbated by flashing lights, sudden noises, stress, fear of dark or confined spaces or from crawling. If you have a heart condition, please check with your doctor as the suspense and sudden loud noises may be unsuitable.
What should I wear?
You will need to wear loose, comfortable clothes that you do not mind getting dirty as you may need to kneel, crawl or reach to find clues. Coats and belongings, including mobiles can be left in a safe space in the welcome room.
Are there any height or weight restrictions?
People of most heights will be able to play the game although there may be some clues placed at height. There is no weight restriction but there is an element of crawling on hands and knees, but not in a confined space. Please enquire before booking if you have any specific requirements.

There is plenty of parking in Canterbury. The nearest car park is Rosemary Lane, just a 1 minute walk away from Stour Street. There is also the multi-storey car park near the bus station.
How much does it cost?
The more players there are, the less it will cost per person. For up-to-date pricing, please check our event page. All sessions are private so you will not have to share the room with strangers.
