The Trials Project

An exciting opportunity for young people across East Kent.

In 2023, we have an incredible project taking place at The Marlowe. From Thursday 31 August – Saturday 2 September, we will be presenting the award-winning play The Trials by Dawn King. Set in the near future, it follows a jury of young people aged 12-17 who hold their elders to account for crimes against the planet.

As producers of the play, The Marlowe are looking to amplify the voices of young people across Kent in response to the climate crisis. The young cast of 12 jurors, who will hold the stage alongside three adult defendants, will be drawn from local talent and could include the young people you work with.

Auditions for the young cast of The Trials

Auditions and workshops to find the cast will take place in April and May 2023.
Please check back in March when we will be announcing more information on how to sign up.

We are looking for venues where we can host evening auditions for this project between 5pm and 8pm on a weekday. If you are interested in hosting us at your venue, please let us know by emailing us. Once we hear from you, we will then be in touch to discuss scheduling.

The Trials is coming to The Marlowe Theatre Thursday 31 August – Saturday 2 September. Tickets are on sale now with discounts available for groups, schools, under 18yrs and Discovery Tickets for 16-26 year-olds.
