Senior Producer

Permanent - Full Time (37 hours per week)
£39,429 per annum

The Marlowe Theatre is ramping up its producing capacity and creating some exciting new creative roles including a Senior Producer, a Dramaturg and a filmmaker-in-residence.

Our mission is to be the engine house for the performing arts in Kent, shaping the spirit of our region. Each year we present over 90 productions of touring theatre, musicals, opera, dance and comedy in our 1,200-seater Theatre. Our 150-seater Studio is dedicated to the development, creation and presentation of new work, with a focus on supporting diverse regional artists. And we partner with our resident and associate companies on new commissions and supporting emerging talent.

This year we are producing Dawn King’s The Trials on our main stage in partnership with The Donmar; we have a Christmas show in development in The Studio; we continue to co-produce our award-winning pantomime (seen by 90,000 people); and we plan to produce and co-produce for our main stage/national touring from next year. In addition, we are setting up a multi-platform Writers Room with exciting media partners and we are developing a major heritage/arts learning centre with young people at its heart, providing opportunities for live and digital commissions responding to the stories of Canterbury and Kent.

We are seeking a Senior Producer to oversee, manage and deliver Marlowe Theatre productions and our artist development and commissioning programmes.

You will have experience of producing mid- and/or large-scale touring theatre (or a related art form) and will relish the chance to embed this area of our work into The Marlowe’s plans and processes.

We want to work with people who are passionate about their work, resilient in the face of any challenge that comes their way and supportive of their colleagues.

The Marlowe is an inclusive employer. We value difference and recruit by merit based on fair and open competition.

We welcome candidates from all backgrounds regardless of gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, religion, ethnicity, age, neurodiversity, disability status, citizenship, or any other aspect which makes them unique. We want to hear from all sectors including veterans.

We are a Creative Green organisation and are committed to taking action on climate change and environmental sustainability.
